Indigenous Peoples’ Day | June 21, 2024
Today is National Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and this is the day for our school to revisit and renew our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation. As we look back on the 2023-24 school year, our commitment was to make a holistic attendance plan to improve student attendance across the whole school. Moving into 2024-25, our commitments to Truth and Reconciliation are 1) to creating Indigenous spaces where students and staff can engage in spiritual and sacred ways of belonging, doing, and knowing and 2) to learning about Indigenous cultural safety and applying learning to improve well-being, achievement, and equity in our school. The full text can be found on the school website in the news story.
