May 2 Field Trip – We’re Going to the Zoo!
Thanks to a grant from Education Matters and support from School Council, Marlborough School will be going to the Calgary Zoo on Thursday, May 2. The purpose of this trip is to learn about animal habitats and life cycles, and to build community as a school. Look for more information as we get closer to the date.
We will need many volunteers to make this happen. If you don’t yet have your volunteer clearance, you can initiate this process through School Engage in your MyCBE Account. Please note that this process takes many weeks, so starting now will ensure that you’re able to volunteer for this trip. If you are having difficulties with the online process, we can support you in the office. If you are cleared already and will be able to make it, please contact your child’s teacher as soon as possible.
Alien Inline Residency
Due to the generous support of School Council, Alien Inline will be coming back to Marlborough right after Spring Break – each class will have at least 4 opportunities to learn to inline skate with a professional instructor. Skates and helmets will be provided, but if students have their own bike helmets this makes outfitting quicker and easier. We will send an email home with your child’s specific schedule, as well as text reminders the night before (if you’re signed up to receive our texts… if not, text “YES” to 978338) so you remember when to send the helmet.
Muddy/Icy Conditions
As we transition from winter into spring (hopefully!), we have lots of muddy puddles on the school property. Please make sure your child comes to school with a change of clothes so that, if their clothes get wet or muddy, learning time is not disrupted.
