Volunteering | Upcoming Field Trips

At this time of year, many classes are preparing for field trips. If you'd like to support these trips by volunteering, instructions for obtaining your police clearance can be found here. The office staff is happy to support you with this process if you have questions.

K, 1, 2 Concert On Thursday, April 23

Ms. Tingley and the students are working hard on their songs for the upcoming concert. Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students will present a wonderful show on Thursday, April 23 at 6:00pm. The theme is working in the farm and garden. If your child has jeans and a plaid shirt to dress on theme, they're welcome to do so.

Doors will open at 5:30 (performers will head to their teachers, audience members will go to the gym to be seated), and the concert will end at 6:30. Mark your calendar!

Language and Reading: Tying it Together with the Reading Rope 

April 20, 4-5pm and May 4, 4-5pm on Microsoft Teams 

You’re invited to join the CBE speech-language pathologists in a session aimed at learning how to support language development and building reading skills. We’ll focus on building language skills through shared reading experiences and playing with sounds during everyday activities. This is a live online two-part series intended for caregivers of kindergarten, grade 1, and grade 2 students. Please note that this is a session for parents/guardians. 

We will discuss the following topics: 

Session 1 – foundational skills for reading, shared reading benefits and strategies, practical vocabulary and grammar instruction 

Session 2 – unlocking sound awareness, sound awareness activities
